Case study · Holiday-rental concierge

Les Clés de la Bienveillance — a brand image built on trust and closeness

A holiday-rental concierge service in Lacanau, looking after the homes of owners who rent them out and welcoming their guests. A website built from scratch, identity included.

The context

Les Clés de la Bienveillance is a local concierge service based in Lacanau, working with owners who rent out their property in Lacanau and the surrounding area. It handles guest arrivals and departures, cleaning and linen, regular checks on the property, and support during the stay.

The project

A build, not a redesign. There was no existing site to take over: the business needed a complete online presence, from the visual identity through to the contact form. Everything on the site was designed for this project.

The need

Make the offer readable at a glance, inspire trust from the first visit — you are handing over the keys to your house, not a parcel — and let an owner describe their situation with no effort.

Art direction

The subject is intimate: a home, a set of keys, someone you trust. The art direction deliberately moves away from estate-agency and short-let conventions towards something calmer and more refined.

Playfair Display

Headings — an elegant didone that brings poise and a sense of a house with character.

Montserrat

Body copy — neutral and legible, leaving the stage to the headings and the imagery.

Night blue for text and solid areas, warm cream for backgrounds, gold for actions. A single accent colour, used sparingly — that is what creates the calm.

Carine, who runs the service, appears in the site’s own imagery. That is not decoration: in a business built on trust, putting a face to the service is part of the promise.

Structure and journey

  • Home — the promise, the four services, an introduction to Carine, the three-step process, the invitation to get in touch.
  • Services — the detail of what is covered.
  • About — who is behind the concierge service.
  • Blog — advice for owners who rent out their property.
  • Contact — the form and the company details.

The journey is built from the owner’s point of view: what they gain, what they no longer have to do, and what actually happens. Every section ends on the same door — a conversation with Carine.

The same home page on a narrow screen: the menu collapses, the hero stacks, the content keeps its order.

On a narrow screen

The journey does not change: the promise, the services, Carine, then getting in touch. Navigation folds behind a button, the hero stacks and the illustration stays visible. Same site, not a stripped-down version.

A form designed to qualify

  • Where the property isThe service covers a defined area, so the question is asked up front.
  • The type of propertySecond home, main residence, short-term let or other — four options, not a free-text field.
  • Availability and messageA single free-text field, at the end, once the context is already set.
  • Explicit consent and spam protectionA consent checkbox for data processing, and a bot trap invisible to the visitor.

The contact form: where the property is, the type of property, availability and explicit consent.

A contact form can get by with three fields. This one asks five, chosen so that the first reply is already useful.

Under the hood

The foundation

WordPress on the Kadence theme, with a fully custom front end in HTML and CSS: the home page layout is hand-written, not assembled in a page builder. That is what makes this identity possible rather than a template’s.

What runs behind it

Hero image preloaded in two versions depending on screen size, image compression, server-side caching and unused-script cleanup. SEO fundamentals, consent banner and legal pages, automatic backups.

The outcome

  • The website is built and published.
  • A complete visual identity — palette, typefaces, imagery — designed and then implemented.
  • A working qualifying form, with consent and spam protection.
  • A blog in place, ready for publishing.
  • Cookie compliance and legal pages are in place.
  • The display adapts to common screen sizes.
