Lacanau Classic Auto — an online presence worthy of the passion
A club of vintage, classic and collector vehicle enthusiasts in Lacanau, on the French Atlantic coast. A website built from scratch to give the club an address, a calendar and a front door.

The context
Lacanau Classic Auto brings together enthusiasts of vintage, classic and collector vehicles in Lacanau, in the Gironde. The club runs meet-ups, drives and gatherings along the Atlantic coast, and welcomes new members throughout the year.
The starting point
The club had no website at all. Everything circulated elsewhere. So this was not about fixing something that existed, but about building a complete online presence: the club’s official address, the one you give out and the one people find.
The need
A structured website that introduces the club, announces its news and events, shows a gallery, explains membership and makes it easy to get in touch — readable on a computer and on a phone alike.
Art direction
The world of classic cars called for something bold and warm, without slipping into vintage pastiche. The choice: massive display type, a serif reading face, and a palette closer to the Atlantic coast than to a garage.
Archivo Black
Headings — a very heavy grotesque, legible from a distance, setting the tone from the hero.
Fraunces
Body copy — a contemporary serif that brings warmth and a sense of heritage.
Burnt orange for actions, deep night blue for dark areas, cream and off-white for breathing space. Pill-shaped buttons, full-width photography to open.
The site structure
- Home — the club’s identity, the next event, the call to join.
- The club — who they are, what they stand for.
- News & events — club life and the calendar.
- Gallery — the vehicles and the club’s moments.
- Membership — why join, the rates, how to go about it.
- Contact — the form and the location.
- FAQ — the questions that come up most often.
Legal notice, privacy policy and cookie policy complete the set.
What was built
- An events calendarSet up and connected so the club’s dates appear with their time, place and programme, without being retyped into the page.
- A contact form with consentName, e-mail, subject, message, and an explicit consent checkbox for data processing.
- A gallery with full-screen viewingPhotos open full screen from the gallery page.
- The club’s Instagram feedEmbedded in the gallery, it updates itself as the club posts.
- A link to the club’s membership platformThe membership page explains the process and points to the platform the club already uses to manage its members.

The calendar on the “News & events” page: every date appears with its time, place and programme.
Under the hood
The foundation
WordPress with the GeneratePress theme and the GenerateBlocks editor, for a custom layout the club can keep developing without depending on a proprietary tool.
What runs behind it
WebP image conversion and server-side caching, automatic backups, two-factor authentication and login attempt limiting, SEO fundamentals in place on every page.
Ongoing care
The site is currently maintained by Chameleon Digital Studio: updates, backups and regular checks.
The outcome
- The website is built and published, at the club’s own address.
- Seven pages online, plus the legal pages.
- The calendar works and shows the upcoming dates.
- The contact form is live, with consent.
- Membership is connected to the club’s platform.
- The display adapts to common screen sizes.
What this page will not claim: no attendance figures, no member counts, no search-ranking results. Those numbers belong to the association, and nothing allows them to be attributed to the website.
